On the Border has been serving delightful Mexican cuisine for over four decades now, and among the restaurant's most beloved menu items is its delectable salsa. The food establishment shared the recipe not too long ago; here's how to make it.

On the Border first opened its doors in 1982, and the company made it its mission to serve its customers delectable meals, from mouthwatering starters to delicious cocktails from their bar.

Among the establishment's staple dishes is the salsa, which was gladly shared on "Trends and Friends" in May 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Daniel Camp, director of culinary for On the Border, demonstrated the recipe from his kitchen. If you want to enjoy the dish in the comfort of your home, follow these easy steps below. Happy cooking!

Instructions

  1. Boil some water.
  2. Heat your dried chile over dry heat on a sautee pan for 30 seconds on each side.
  3. Transfer the chili to a bowl. Once your water comes to a boil, pour it into the same bowl to rehydrate the chile pepper, then set aside.
  4. Chop your onion into quarters and place them on a baking sheet, then add your tomatoes, tomatillos, and serrano or jalapeno pepper.
  5. Preheat your broiler or oven, then roast your vegetables for five minutes on each side or until they darken.
  6. Chop your garlic while the other vegetables are roasting. Alternatively, you could roast your garlic alongside the other vegetables.
  7. Once the vegetables are ready, add them to a blender, including the garlic and rehydrated dried chile.
  8. Add salt, then pulse your veggies 4-5 times so your salsa retains some chunkiness.

Now, you can enjoy your On the Border salsa recipe without even having to visit the restaurant. And since you're cooking up a storm already, why not try this delightful matalang recipe?
